Updated 20th May 2020

In order to meet an increase in key-worker demand we have now reopened our 4-Day Offshore First Aid course and our 2-Day Offshore First Aid Refresher course. The Advanced Techniques course can be added onto both of these courses.

Ensuring a safe working environment is an essential step in being able to open for these key-worker specific courses and we at Aberdeen First Aid School have been working hard to put new steps and practices in place to allow social distancing to be maintained by all staff and delegates while they are on our premises. These have been established in line with the HSE guidelines on working safely during the coronavirus outbreak.

These steps include:

  • The introduction of a one-way system around our building to ensure there are no issues with passing anyone in the corridor, floor markings will also act as an aid to ensure a safe distance is kept between people.
  • New registration area at the front of the building to allow delegates to maintain social distancing guidelines while they are registered to the course and directed to the correct classroom.
  • Delegates asked to sanitise hands upon entering the building and being encouraged to wash hands regularly throughout the day.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available to use in every classroom.
  • Delegates asked to confirm that you are not experiencing any symptoms which include a consistent cough or high temperature and that no one in their household is experiencing these either.
  • Reduced class numbers in each room to allow adequate space between delegates
  • Amendments to teaching methods to minimise physical contact on equipment.
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting procedures throughout the day.
  • Break times to be staggered to ensure there is no gathering of people with our coffee room remaining closed for now (Tea and coffee will still be available however through a new process.)
  • Each delegate will receive a sealed class pack with everything they need for the course upon taking their seat.
  • All certificates will be sent by email rather than physical post.

If you would look to make a booking please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the dates and delegates details and we will confirm the booking and send through joining instructions. This may not be as prompt as usual as we are still reduced to a skeleton staff in the office.

We hope to reopen our First Aid at Work courses in the near future, however for now it will just be the Offshore courses as these are specifically for key-workers during this challenging time.
